This sounds like a bad coolant temp sensor that give computer false reading, check the coolant temp sensor connector and if it is good with no bad wires to connector then replace coolant temp sensor , when the computer gets a signal from temp sensor that engine is hot it turns fans on high speed to cool radiator and displays a/c turned off , if this truck does not. Gm Engineers Have Apparently Decided That If The Engine Temperature Is Too Low (Example 195Deg) That They Will Display Engine Too Hot Turning Ac Off.
Thus it shuts down the a/c to lower the load and not create extra heat. The temperature gauge reads normal and the heat works like it should. By continuing to use this site you consent to the use of cookies on your device as described in our cookie policy unless you have disabled them.

Probably best that both coolant temperature sensors are replaced since have conflicting data, and false engine management behavior. If i clear the codes the warning goes away and the temp gauge in the dash will start working again. If yes go back to the wiring around the plugs and see if you knocked a sensor wire off by accident.
While It Is Safe To Drive The Vehicle When The Dic Shows This Alert, The Air Conditioning Will Be Automatically Shut Off To Reduce Stress To The Engine.
